Judge Issues Arrest Warrant for Justin Bieber
An Argentine judge has ruled that the singer will be arrested if he sets foot in the country. Photographer Diego Pesoa accused Justin and one of his bodyguards of lashing out at him when he tried to take a picture of Justin, as he left the club in the capital’s trendy Palermo Hollywood neighborhood.
Under Argentine law, Justin would face from one month up to six years in prison if convicted on a charge of assault causing injuries.
Authorities have also called in world police agency Interpol to locate Bieber after he ignored a court order to appear for questioning over the incident.
“I consider it pertinent to order the immediate detention of the accused,” read Judge Alberto Julio Banos’ order.
Entertainment website FarandulaShow (www.farandulaShow.com) posted a copy of the court ruling ordering Justin be detained on its web page.
Court secretary Soledad Nieto, a co-signatory of the order paper, confirmed the document was authentic.
He said: “We are asking Interpol for Justin Bieber’s detention, anywhere in the world.
“Since he could not be found for his appearance to testify, we request that he be detained.”
The court also ordered the detention of one of Bieber’s bodyguards.
In November, another local judge had ordered Bieber to appear for questioning within two months over the same alleged incident but he was a no show.
